A rainbow-hued Pokémon then descended from the sky and gave them new life, of water, lightning, and fire. But the people were afraid of such power, and the reborn Pokémon knew they could not contain theirs, so the rainbow-hued Pokémon flew away, and the three others ran off into the grassland.

Or something like that, anyway.
