[The 'gear is at an angle this evening - it was obviously turned on on purpose, but it's not recording him head-on, instead from his side, while he's lying down. That doesn't mean you won't be able to make out things like the tiger stripe-like markings on his arms, or the fact that he's wearing sunglasses at night, or the fact that there's a tiny yellow spider cuddling very happily between his neck and shoulder, but.]

So, I'm kind of curious. Anyone got any interesting legends or anything, back where they come from?

I'm quite sure you'll be here all day, then. To narrow it down, is there anything in particular you'd like to hear?

War stories, huh... Well, I guess if you want to share, I won't say no.

Hmm... All right, sure. I'll go with the legend of the Dark Emperor, then.

They tend to be. History's generally written by the winners, after all.

Well, the stories are interesting anyway, right? And they usually have some basis in truth, if nothing else. At least, far as I've run into.

Whatever anyone's willing to share. I'm not picky.

...Have to say, I would have never expected something like that from where you come from.

How about how humans came to be, then?

Glad the good fairy was able to turn that around.

To be extra careful, the good fairies took baby Aurora with them into the forest to raise her, renaming her as Brair Rose, until they felt it was safe for her to return.. The King, meanwhile, ordered all the spinning needles to be destroyed. Years passed, and Maleficent was angry that the princess couldn't be found. The princess grew up not knowing about her royal family, and became beautiful and kind, always playing in the forest with her animal friends. The day before her sixteenth birthday, a wandering prince - the very same she was engaged to as a baby! - found her, and they fell in love. When she returned home to tell the fairies her good news, they revealed she was a princess.

How about that, there was once a space colony, it's a huge city located in space, if you need an imagery.

And one day, during a battle within a war, a very devastating weapon was used and killed all the people within the colony.

...

That day was forever known as the Bloody Valentine.

Why is that?

[To be fair, he didn't really expect it either. SURPRISE IT'S ALIENS usually doesn't happen during his operations.]

Oh! I like stories like that. Keep going!

All right. [He clears his throat, pauses to gather his thoughts, and starts.]

Once, there wasn't a heaven or an earth - only the Primeval Giant, a powerful being who was also the god of creation. However, he was incredibly lonely - so much that he died from it, eventually. From his body came Devaloka and from his head came the gods, and so that's how the world was formed.

Unfortunately, even gods are greedy, and the ones that lusted after power the most were cast down from Devaloka and onto a land - a prison, really - that the other gods created, and that was Naraka. And that's how humans came to be. For thousands of years, the fallen gods - the humans - prayed to the gods and wished for entrance back into Devaloka, but they never were allowed. Eventually, humans forgot all together that they were descended from gods and stopped believing in a way to get back the Providence they had sought for many years before.

I've found that almost everything tends to be written in a biased view. Cocoon won, so everything Cocoon did in the war was beautiful, while Pulse was dark and dangerous.

Though, I wouldn't be surprised if Pulse showed us to be cheaters and won by trickery. Everyone has their own opinions, after all.

That's not really something you just tell someone out of nowhere...

Aurora was very sad, because that meant she could no longer see her beloved prince. The fairies told her she was already engaged to someone else, not realizing the two princes were one and the same. Yet Aurora loved her fairies so much that she went along with them back to the kingdom. She went to her room, and cried over the loss of her love. But as she cried, Maleficent used her magic to sneak into the castle, having found her and followed her back to the kingdom. She managed to save one spinning needle from the King's destruction, and placed it in Aurora's room.

Aurora had never seen one before, and she was so overwhelmed by curiosity...

All right... It was back in the time when demons and monsters roamed the continent freely. The Dark Emperor Kokuei is said to have covered the world in shadows, and he was seen as a demon lord because of how much death and destruction he caused. But this emperor gave a ring to his most trusted subordinate, a ring that let him manipulate shadows.

The emperor's subordinate used the power of this ring to assassinate important people in neighboring countries and expand his emperor's domain. Eventually, though, a certain knight protecting one of the targets cut off the finger with the ring and stole it. After that, the Dark Emperor was killed by the power of his own shadows... well, that's more or less how it goes, anyway.

It's kind of... I guess I just never expected something that interesting to come from the same place as someone like you.

A weapon like that, huh. Those are the kinds you're not supposed to actually use.

And the real truth is usually something different from either side's version.

And what is that supposed to mean?

Let me guess, she pricked her finger?

Oh, nothing important.
