Presumably, because apparently all this heat, especially being out in the sun over open water with no shade in sight, has been getting to the guy who's still feeling the after-effects of having possessed ice-type powers just a month ago. Which is why he took a moment to relax and bask in the relative cool of their room in the inn, even going so far as to strip down to his underwear, since it's not like there was anywhere there to see it. In fact, since Ryner was out exploring, he probably wouldn't be back for a good hour or so, which meant Sion could actually lay back and rest for a bit after a long, too-hot day of travel...

...unfortunately for him, his body was apparently far more exhausted than even he realized, so within moments he was fast asleep, and still sleeping soundly by the time Ryner was expected to get back....*
