[The 'gear is at an angle this evening - it was obviously turned on on purpose, but it's not recording him head-on, instead from his side, while he's lying down. That doesn't mean you won't be able to make out things like the tiger stripe-like markings on his arms, or the fact that he's wearing sunglasses at night, or the fact that there's a tiny yellow spider cuddling very happily between his neck and shoulder, but.]

So, I'm kind of curious. Anyone got any interesting legends or anything, back where they come from?

All legends are true, in my world's case.

They tend to be back where I come from, too. Doesn't mean I'm not interested in hearing about them.

Well then...

People in my world were taught that a hundred years before my birth, there was a war between my homeland, Cocoon, and another place, Pulse. Humans from both sides were chosen to wield magic and the ability to summon creatures to help. In the end, it was Cocoon that prevailed.

[This is a sore spot to him, considering he knows that the real version was less like a fairy tale than the shows of Nautilus, but he manages to keep his voice even, like he's only reciting from a book.]

There always is, really. The reenactments I've seen were very biased and a lot more colorful.

They tend to be. History's generally written by the winners, after all.

I've found that almost everything tends to be written in a biased view. Cocoon won, so everything Cocoon did in the war was beautiful, while Pulse was dark and dangerous.

Though, I wouldn't be surprised if Pulse showed us to be cheaters and won by trickery. Everyone has their own opinions, after all.

And the real truth is usually something different from either side's version.

True enough. You needed to be there to know, or get it from an unbiased source.

Sadly, the latter can be hard to find.

I've yet to find those, sadly. I was very close a couple of times before though.
