["Clef?" Rose the Cleffa tilts her head at the skewer of dango that she's just received from Ryner.]
It's called dango. I'm... not sure if it's good for you, to be honest, but it was there, so I wanted to see if you like it.
[If one reads further, it could be implied that he wants to see if, like with Ferris, buying Rose dango will appease her fury should she ever get all that pissed off at him. ...If one reads even further than that, it could be said that he misses Ferris, but he's not going to admit to that.

Rose looks the dango over again, and then bites into the one closest to the bottom of the stick, because that's the one she can reach. (Also it's a tiny nibble, instead of eating the whole thing, but.) She chews, swallows, and then...

Ah, guess you do like it then. [Why is he not surprised. (In fact, it's mildly frightening.) Still, he's glad.] Can't get it too often though. I mean, I don't have much money left as it is, so... Ah, that's right, I'd been meaning to ask about that...
[And here is where he pulls out his Pokégear and turns on the video feed. He and Rose are sitting by the water on the opposite side of the bridge from Sprout Tower, eating dango. (Well, Rose is blissfully savoring hers. He's just holding his for the moment, but that's because he's talking.)]

What kind of job would you suggest for a guy whose best skill is afternoon naps?
