☆67☆ [Video]

[Well, here's a rare sight these days: a certain lazy mage is actually showing his face on the network. He's sitting in a chair, a tired expression on his features, his arms crossed over his chest...

...and a Clefairy popping up every few seconds, poking him with what appear to be an assortment of evolution stones. Moon is not among them.

He lets this run for about thirty seconds before speaking up.]

All right. Who gave her this idea, and why? Hell, I'd take an answer for what she thinks she's doing.

I'm not even going to ask where she got them - I'm sure that's where Gail and Julia were the other day, taking a trip to Goldenrod on their own. Just... what?

[Oh my. Is she doing what Cecil thinks she's doing?]

...Having you ever explained to her that humans grow and age naturally over years, with no stones or levels involved? She might need the biology lesson.

It's so different from their own growth, it must be a difficult concept for them to accept, even after a proper explanation.

Can you think of anything that could have triggered this attempt, then? Has she met new people recently?
paladinlost: (confused)

Which means anything could started this... Have you tried asking her why? Surely she'd be the best at explaining her own reasons.

[...
......
.........]

............Surely they'd not sell harmful stones so overtly, especially not to children. Perhaps the stones in question are not available to the public, and unlikely to be distributed?
paladinlost: (surprised)

[Don't be. Sadly, or perhaps luckily, Cecil's knowledge of drugs is limited to herbs and potions that idiots try to smuggle through his port.]

...Could it be that cracked or chipped evolutionary stones can somehow emit harmful energies...?
paladinlost: (panicked)

And what if something did happen? How could you live happily, with your trainer's injury or illness on your conscience?

[In any other circumstances he'd have added death to the list, but...]

For you well-being, at the very least. I've no doubt she means well, but testing potentially dangerous items so directly is asking for trouble.

[Or for painful and permanent mutations. Yay.]

As you could look at multiple stones at once, it'd be more efficient. Safer, also, for the two of you.

[Surely she is susceptible to logical arguments?]

You could also use the opportunity to warn the shopkeepers about their damaged goods, ensuring that no one else will be negatively affected by their properties.

[Helping others is the best motivation, right?]

[That sure was some complicated Pokémonese.]

...Rosie...?

[Clefable clef clef fable, says a voice somewhere to the side. Just tell them you heard the stones explode, they'll panic and take care of all the tests!]

Rosie is mostly a sensible girl. Whatever she's suggesting will be neither illegal nor likely to kill anyone.

[Probably.]

Now, if it were Avenger offering heartfelt advice and detailed suggestions, I'd be much more worried...

[Rosie snorts at that. Please, even at her worst she's not nearly that bad.]
