Character: Ryner Lute
Series: The Legend of the Legendary Heroes
Character Age: 20
Canon: In a world torn apart by constant war and terrible corruption amongst the nobility, a young, optimistic Hero King has recently taken the throne in the southern country of Roland. He wishes to bring an era of peace, prosperity, and happiness to his citizens, and in order to work toward that goal, he sends his best friend with a bodyguard/babysitter out into the world to seek out and bring back relics of ancient heroes so that their immense power can be used to deter other countries from attacking. Adventures, politics, and paperwork ensue.
Ryner Lute is the aforementioned best friend, and he is lazy. Though he’s a genius who earned the title of Roland’s Strongest Magician at the age of thirteen, he’d much rather sleep fifty hours a day than do any kind of bothersome work. Though he has a kind heart and hates seeing anyone suffer, he sees himself as a monster who can only destroy, due to his cursed eyes that hold a dangerous power known as Alpha Stigma. And when everything you do just ends in disaster, why even bother trying, you know? Still, he dreams of a world where everyone can be happy and just take afternoon naps all the time, and if Sion seriously thinks he can make a world like that as the King of Roland, he’ll do what he can to help him. Even though it’s a pain in the butt most of the time.

Ahh, this is all such a pain, you know? Seriously, I get that there are all kinds of bothersome things all over the place in this camp, but you’d think the library would be safe, at least. All I wanted was to go over there and look through the books, see if anything looked interesting, maybe spend some time reading or something. Good way to stay out of the way and not bother anybody else, don’t you think? …Haaa, but why would it ever be that easy.

…Why do the books bite?
Biting the fingers of the people who are trying to read them… Who makes books that do annoying things like that, anyway?!? I mean, I guess maybe whoever it was might have done it to protect some kind of important secrets or something, but come on, there are so many better ways to do that! Ways that don’t involve limb-chomping, either! There are so many things wrong with that, not least of which is that the people who are allowed to look at it would also get bitten unless you put in all sorts of safeguards, and that’d be really troublesome to bother figuring out how to set up…
It’s not like I was even looking to do any research or anything, either – I was looking through fiction, for crying out loud! Fiction! I just wanted to relax with something light, you know? Maybe on one of those couches in there – they look like a great place for a nap.
…Not that I would ever think of sleeping there, of course! Honest! And I’m not just saying that because of the zombie that just started glaring at me when I mentioned that and that’s now clawing at my arm. …though, er, it’d be really great if you’d stop that. I do kind of need that, you know.
