So, I'm kind of curious. Anyone got any interesting legends or anything, back where they come from?

There are some people who will use any excuse to be cruel.

The fairies found the prince, who was searching for his lost love. They told him what happened, and he followed them to the castle. Maleficent sent her minions after him, but with the fairies magic, he defeated them, and cut through the vines and thorns. His pure heart strengthened the magic of the fairies! Maleficent became so enraged, she turned herself into a fierce dragon, almost destroying the castle in her wrath. "Now you shall deal with me, O Prince," she cackled, "and all the powers of Hell!"

...I guess they have the advantage of having a higher endurance and being able to access unimaginable power, since they're technically reincarnations of gods in human form, but they still feel pain and have the same amount of tolerance for it, generally, as anyone else. It was horrifying to see them all in tubes, being used to power machines or otherwise.

The story, of course, begins with the first of the titular characters, Diarmuid O'Duibhne, who was notable for two things: being chivalrous to the point where he was absolutely infuriating to deal with and having a cursed mole that caused women to fall in love with him on first sight.

Yeah, it'd be bad if you didn't have both, right? I mean, plants need the day to grow, but if there wasn't any night, no one would get any rest. And that would be really bad.

Ah, no, it doesn't mean that! Just because there are different interpretations doesn't make any of them wrong, you know? And most of my research has been about things like the ring itself, so I haven't paid all that much attention to the meanings behind the stories or anything...
