All right, question.

[Despite how it's mid-afternoon, Ryner is flopped on his bed, hugging a pillow. He does have a notebook in front of him, though, so maybe he hasn't been napping ~~for once~~? The tiny top hat-wearing Joltik on his neck certainly is taking a cute little snooze, though.]

How do you help someone to get over something? I mean, obviously the way I deal with things isn't gonna work for her, otherwise it'd be fine already, but I don't really have any other ideas, and it's been over a year... I just want everybody to move on already. Is that really too much to ask?

[Before he can continue, though, there's the sound of a cat-like creature jumping onto the bed, and an Espeon quietly dropping a note in front of Ryner's head, which he picks up and reads.]

Ahh, Jiru? Wha--oh. Ahh, I guess it is that time of year, isn't it. Nice of her to write a note this time...

[He reaches up to scritch the Espeon, who gives a happy "Eo~on" of approval at the attention.]

Haaa, guess the other part is, I've got eggs for sale. Again. Cleffas and Eevees, by the look of it. Delivery's not a problem, so just give me a couple minutes, I'll write up the egg moves they've got...

[The feed ends here, but a few minutes later a text file is attached with egg moves and prices.

Hmm... that all depends on the type of something in question.

[...Well, while he's not interested in buying anything, the first part of this actually manages to catch his attention somewhat. So really, why not.

From what I've gathered, the only way to help anyone in that sort of situation is to just sit there and listen to whatever they have to say on the subject, offer whatever words you can think of that they happen to like in response, and keep doing that until they stop talking about it.

I don't know if it helps so much as they just run out of things to say on the matter, but at least it seems to accomplish something.

Listening if they want to talk is always a good first step.

Well... like others have said already, just being there for them and listening is the biggest thing you can do. It's gonna be a little hard to get someone to move on though, depending on the problem you're having..

[Jimmy shrugs a little, absently petting a baby Larvesta curled up in his lap.]

[France's own expression is a bit strained. The third to his travel group has disappeared this morning.]

Time sometimes doesn't lessen pain. At best, a person can hope for it to become manageable. If you're on the outside of it, the best thing you can do is make the person certain that they know that you're there for them to listen if they want to talk or simply for companionship.
