Okay, you know something?

[A certain lazy mage is grumpily sitting up in a tent right now, shivering a little and positively drenched. There's a Clefairy leaning up against his side, wrapped in a towel. The rain batters hard against the outside of the tent, though perhaps not as hard as it could - trees do tend to give a little bit of extra shelter against the wind and rain. Not much, mind, but a little.]

There are Pokémon that can control the weather, right? I'm just thinking, maybe a bunch of them caused this storm because they got so pissed off at all the crap in the cities. It's possible, right? I mean, well, I guess it could just be a coincidence, too, but...

...Haa, well, either way, it's just my luck that we'd get a bothersome storm every time I go through this forest, isn't it. This really sucks.

[Before Ryner can reply to that, Rose's stomach growls audibly. To which she leans backward and peers up at Ryner.

"Fairy..." Dear partner, I'm hungry. Can we eat now?]

Ah, are you hungry, Rose?

Well, I suppose we may as well eat while we're here, though hopefully the supplies didn't get soggy...

*Dusk mutters an agreement to this and settles herself more comfortably over Sion with a yawn; he's not going anywhere anytime soon....*

Either way, they should still be edible anyway, so...

[Ryner will just be pulling out the bag to fish out some food now.

Jehra, who is curled up by Ryner's side, yawns as well.]

For a certain definition of "edible", I suppose.

*stretches where he sits and shifts to try to get into a more comfortable position in the cramped tent. ....which probably means ending up up against Ryner, but there's really only so much you can do in a two-person tent holding two people and three pokemon*

[It's a tent, small or not. If it's a little cramped... well, it's better than nothing. Hence why he doesn't even think to comment about that.]

About five or six days through this forest, then four more days to Goldenrod City itself. Of course, that's assuming that we can actually make progress in this weather...

[Obtained: dinner! And it doesn't look soggy, either.]

If we're going to get wet either way, we may as well travel as much as we can.

*...you know dinner actually DOES sound like a good idea. especially dinner that isn't soggy*

Assuming that we don't have to end up going around in circles because a dead tree blocked the path or something.

[Just going to start divvying it up and passing it out, then.]

As long as it's just a dead tree, I imagine Dusk and Jehra could do something about that.

*taking his share and some to give to Dusk without comment*

[Rose's expression lights up as her portion is handed to her, and she starts digging in immediately without waiting for anyone else.]

*Dusk takes her portion, but holds onto it for now, watching Sion to make sure he eats*

I'm sure we'll manage somehow.

Well, anyway, for now, let's eat.

*at least he seems to generally have a better appetite in Johto than he did back in Roland?*

[Not that that's hard, exactly, but a better appetite is a good thing.

Sometimes I wonder why I put up with talking to him at all, honestly.

But even so... he has claimed credit for at least two incidents, hasn't he? They may have been easily thwarted, but I wonder if what he may do by accident would be more dangerous than his actual plans...

And of course, it's certainly suspicious that he the only person outside of this "Team Rocket" who's been committing such acts.

No guarantee he isn't a part of it and just denying it. He did demand the release of any imprisoned members back when he attacked the Academy, after all. Don't know who would bother with that if they weren't at least connected somehow.

Exactly. Besides, it seems like an established organization like that wouldn't be inclined to let rogue elements do as they pleased in their territory.

Yeah. Even if he's not a member of the organization, they'd want him to align with them so they knew he wouldn't cause them trouble. Either that, or they'd terminate him before he could, but I'm pretty sure that's not the case.

*nods*

He's been surprisingly careful about avoiding associating himself with them, however, assuming that's true. Although... since he's apparently taken an interest in you, perhaps we can use that to our advantage....

No idea why he'd be interested in me. I'm just some harmless lazy guy.
