[This video is being brought to you this fine Monday evening by a certain giggling Clefairy. The observant viewer might note that this is not taking place in a town, but instead on the road somewhere. ...Specifically, somewhere between Union Cave and Violet. The observant viewer who knows the owner of this Pokégear might note that this is different from where he has been for the last month-ish.

(Only three days to make it through Union Cave, thanks to Aran. That Paras has such a good sense of direction.)]

Oi! Jiji! Stop it already!

[So, an Igglybuff - with a kind of blank-ish smiling expression that just doesn't change - rolls past the camera, chased by an Eevee who thinks said Igglybuff is a toy or something, who in turn is being chased by a certain lazy mage. ...And now the other direction. ...And now back in the first direction. Said certain mage getting progressively more annoyed each time across.]

Jiji!! Kaile just hatched an hour ago! He's not a toy! Stop it! Ah, geeze! This is such a pain!!!!

["Sol..." That would be a yawning Absol off to the side of the camera who's trying to take a well-deserved snooze now and would like it to be a little quieter, thanks.

...It'll... probably be a while before Ryner manages to catch Jiji and Kaile and stop this. Feel free to point and laugh. Rose certainly is.]

You have quite the.. quirky team. [she giggles a little.]

[It's a few minutes before he responds, but when he does, he's wrangled up the two critters, the Eevee in one arm (rubbing up enthusiastically against it begging for attention), the Igglybuff in the other (still with that same expression), and the Clefairy still giggling in the background even though she received a tired glare or two from her dear partner when he took the Pokégear back.]

That almost makes it sound like a good thing.

W-Well, it can be. [she tries to sound reassuring.] You definitely won't have a boring moment that way!

Who says I ever wanted an interesting life?

[He sits down, leaning backward against a tree, and gently puts the Igglybuff down on the ground next to him (who then rolls off toward the Clefairy) before indulging the Eevee in some petting.]

Seriously. I'd really rather if everyone would just let me sleep all day and not have to deal with bothersome things like traveling or chasing after stuff or things like that...

O-Oh.. I'm sorry.. [she frowns. she didn't mean to offend or anything..]

Unfortunately, there's not much time to relax in this world, huh?

Only because they won't let me.

[The Eevee yawns happily while being petted. And if you look closely... well, while he might not exactly be smiling or anything, it doesn't look as though Ryner really minds it as much as his words might suggest.]

Ah, for crying out loud, you might think this is funny, but this is really a huge pain, you know?!

[Meanwhile, the Igglybuff rolls up to the Eevee and produces... a wrapped gift? Completely from out of nowhere.]

[She blinks at the randomly produced wrapped gift, but continues to snicker at Ryner.]

That's exactly why it's so funny to me! [CACKLECACKLE.]

[The Eevee is quite distracted by the gift to the point where he decides to stalk around it to determine the best way to attack -it-, giving the Igglybuff enough time to roll a distance away.]

It's really, really not funny at all!

[...and then the gift explodes.]

... ... ...

What a tricky little thing you have there.

[Ryner is also stunned silent by the whole 'gift that his baby Igglybuff made exploding' thing.]

...I'm... going to have to have a talk with Kaile, aren't I...

[The good news is, at least the Eevee isn't hurt, just confused and too distracted by the burning question of where that came from to go anywhere.]

If by Kaile, you mean your Igglybuff, then yes. You might want to.

[giggle giggle.]

[And while the Eevee is still stunned, Ryner takes the opportunity to pick it up, running his fingers through its fur to get rid of its explosion-blown-ness. The Eevee immediately starts rubbing up against his hand, all interest in chasing the Igglybuff forgotten.]

It's such a huge pain when things explode... Haa, well, at least he's still young, so hopefully I can convince him not to do that very often...

I'm not so sure about that, Ryner~ Pokemon tend to pick up habits that are hard to get rid of when they're young.

I said hopefully.

[Now to search out the Igglybuff... who has conveniently stopped a short distance away, now that he's not being chased anymore. Still with that exact same expression.]

Hope is sometimes a paper boat that sinks.

[Jeez, you two Pokemon.]

I know that.

[He scoops up the Igglybuff with his free arm. The Eevee paws at it once, but Ryner maneuvers things so that they're too far apart for that.]

That was some easy agreeing there, Ryner...

Huh? But it's true, you know. Bothersome stuff happens, no matter how much you hope it won't. That's just how things are.

... You really are a passive person.

At least you're putting effort into keeping your Pokemon in line.

Well, it'd be a huge pain if they just ran around destroying everything without a care or something bothersome like that...

That trait was certainly useful during the bug swarm though.

That was them running around knocking the bugs out before they could destroy everything. There's a difference, you know?
