Haaaaaa...

[A certain lazy mage is slumped over a table, head on his arms as though he could easily go to sleep right here, and probably desires to do just that and ignore the situation he's found himself in. There is a plate with several sticks of dango in the middle of this table, and a certain Clefairy is sitting on the opposite side of the table, happily eating said dango as though nothing is wrong.

There's something a little off, though... Before this weekend, wasn't he in Violet? Because this is clearly the Tranquil Square of the Goldenrod City Department Store.]

You know, losing three days? Not a problem. Usually, I'd be really happy I was able to sleep that long without being interrupted, you know? ...I know, I know, Rose, you don't like it when I sleep too much for your liking, you don't have to come over here and smack me as usual, I get it. Geeze.

["Fairy?" She ever-so-innocently and seamlessly turns her motion of getting up into one of reaching for another dango stick. Why, whatever could you mean, dear partner? Me, smack you for something like that? Never.

Not that Ryner's buying her innocent act, but whatever.] But seriously! How did I wake up here again?! I really wasn't looking to come back to this bothersome city any time soon.

["Clefairy fair." Rose doesn't quite see what Ryner's problem with Goldenrod is, really.]

...Well, anyway. There's no way I'm sticking around more than a couple days this time. But there's not really any real reason to go back to Violet again right now, I guess... What's Ecruteak like, I wonder?

I'll be fine. I'm pretty used to the sea anyway, so I won't get seasick. Besides, it's a good enough opportunity in my opinion.

It's sandy, for the most part. The buildings are made by the beachside. I heard there was a place called Safari Zone nearby that I'm going to check out soon.

["Clef?" The Clefairy on the other side of the table seems to have been pinged by mention of this 'Safari Zone'.]

Sounds like somewhere Rose will want to visit at some point, then...

["Fairy!" Why, whatever could you mean by that, dear partner? She's just going to wave cheerfully at the camera.]

She's actually a pushy little thing who always has to get what she wants and who beats me up far too often.

... Wouldn't that be a problem with you as a trainer than her as a pokémon?

Well, if you don't discipline your pokémon well, of course they'd treat you badly. It's because you're not showing your authority to them.

Hnn... The others never do anything like this though.

But they don't all have the same personality. [He notices the softly-spoken words though, grinning.] Well, if she's getting better, then that's a good thing right?

Well, yeah, they don't, and it'd be bad if they did...

Hopefully soon enough she'll stop hitting you. Though, hard to imagine such a cute thing being the source of anyone's grief.

Rose takes this opportunity to start rubbing up against his arm.]

You'd be amazed how often liking someone and beating them within and inch of their life aren't exclusive...

[He might be talking from more experience than just the Clefairy in question, who is now looking up at her partner. Within an inch of your life? Why, dear partner, I would never go that far.]

Well, if worse comes to worse, you could always just put her back in her pokéball.

You don't seem to inclined to.

She doesn't really seem to like it much, and I don't really want to force her if she doesn't want to. I don't know how Pokéballs work, but it seems like it could get kinda lonely in there, you know?

I can imagine. I kind of wish there's a way in order to have a place to put pokémon in without storing them in pokéballs, especially for anyone beyond six.

I know! That would be so great, if there was somewhere like that. Being forced to store them away really sucks.

Maybe someone could do something like that, it's better than letting them stay in storage.

Maybe someone could. It'd be nice.

Throw the option out in the open, maybe?

May not be a bad idea.

If someone makes one, at least it gives the pokémon freedom and keeps you from having to worry about them.
