-mit, I really don't need this today. On top of the worst swarm since Rey's...

[Today, the 'gear is turned on when it accidentally falls out of Ryner's pocket, and the video it's recording is... chaotic.

There are Omanytes and Archens everywhere, with the occasional Omastar or Archeops going past, and an Absol and Clefairy trying to go easy on them but knock them out. Jehra is just using False Swipe on them; Rose is taking this as an opportunity to practice controlling the power of her Doubleslap.

Oh, but the more interesting thing might be the Gyarados roaring in the background - a roar of both pain and fury - as she lashes and snaps at the various fossils that are trying to climb all over her. The water she's splashing around is making quite a mess.]

Fyn, you've gotta calm down! We'll go somewhere else and relax for a while, maybe have something special to celebrate, but you need to calm down!

[But the Gyarados isn't listening, instead continuing to roar and lash her tail at anything in the area, fossil or not. A large rock gets swept up in one of these lashes and flies toward Ryner unexpectedly, but a Mienfoo quickly Low Kicks it into harmless pieces.]

Thanks, Tei. ...Ahh, dammit. Fine, guess I'll have to get up there and calm you down myself, huh. Glen, can I get your help here?

["Tik!" The tiny!spider on Ryner's shoulder is ready and willing to help out with that.

An Omanyte tries to grab hold of the 'gear at this point, but a shiny Togepi notices this and pushes the Omanyte away with Ancientpower before grabbing it and turning it off.]

You can't really blame... [Hang on. Asahina is studying the background here and deciding on...] ...her for being agitated. They're really giving her a lot of trouble.

[She purses her lips here.] Not just her either. All in all, it's a little disruptive. Does this usually happen around here?

[It's a minute or two before Yohki gets Ryner's attention and Glen manages to spit some web and pull the 'gear up to them. At this point, Ryner is clinging to a thrashing Gyarados, trying to climb and hold on for dear life and not drop the 'gear in the water either, though the Joltik is helping with some of those. Go go Spider Web and String Shot.]

That why we're gonna go someplace else! Just 'cause-- [cling for dear life as Fyn roars again and splashes with her tail] --this is the worst swarm I've seen since the bugs a couple years ago doesn't give her the excuse to destroy everything in sight!

I suppose that's true! It looks like she could really do some damage too.

[A tilt of her head to the side.] What about putting her in one of the balls? Wouldn't that give her a bit of peace and quiet for a while? No one could bother her inside, right?

[Poor thing looks stressed out, Asahina thinks. She'd be stressed out with those things hassling her.]

Yeah, there's that. I just don't want to force her in there, either.

[manages to get a little distance upwards]

I suppose that's a good point. Though Sprinkles doesn't seem to mind his. At lease not when he's tired of walking.

[A sheepish little smile.] But you should be careful too! Getting hurt will only make it more of a mess, right?

I'll be fine. I've got Glen to help--ahh, seriously, just go away!

[He swats his arm at an assaulting Archen or two. One of them attacks with AncientPower, but the tiny!spider uses Protect to shield everyone from harm.]

[For a minute she's not sure if he's talking to her, but well, the swatting leads her to believe that he's not.]

Looks like you do! He's pretty good, huh?

[He take a moment to get his gripping again before giving a quick pat to the Joltik.]

Yeah. Glen's pretty awesome. I'd trust him with pretty much anything.

*oh hey, it's that kid who likes the tameness of Johto. not that Geddoe hasn't had plenty to deal with in terms of fossil swarms himself, but having both a reliable electric and water type on hand works wonders for keeping things under control....*

[It's a minute or two before the response, considering that Yohki has to get Ryner's attention and then Glen has to rope the 'gear up and then Ryner has to have enough of a grip to respond... At this point, he's on the Gyarados' back, clinging for dear life and actually with a pretty firm one despite the thrashing that the dragon is doing.]

That's a bit of an understatement.

Seriously, why'd she have to evolve today, of all times...

[He climbs a little bit further up the Gyarados' neck.]

A huge surge of power and a lot of adjustment to make when she's already scared and there's so much commotion--seriously, leave her alone! Geeze!

[He kicks out to knock off a couple of Omanyte that have decided to climb up and wrap themselves around Fyn.]

Why not recall her to her ball?

*Sion would help, except, y'know, he's somewhat hampered by the fact that there's so many angry fossil pokemon in the way he can hardly even get THROUGH...*

[That's okay, as long as you can keep a few of them at bay that's help enough.

Meanwhile, you get to see Ryner and Glen's webslinging skillz! :D String Shot is made of some pretty tough material, strong enough to get him up to at least a starting place.]

*well, clearing a perimeter and keeping the attack 'mons off is definitely a thing Sion's team can do, though it's a pity that he didn't have the full Team Justice on hand for this....*

[Oh well, it's not like the rest of yours can't handle themselves too, right?

Now if only people would stop messaging him and let him do what he's trying to do here.]

*true, but some of them aren't as strongly trained to work as effectively as a team as opposed to just doing their own things

[Well, to be fair, these are all what, level 15-20? And you've got a whole bunch of level 100s. They probably don't need much backup.

*ah, but if you can only attack so many opponents at once, the rest will eventually start wearing you down, you know...
