This Cleffa was Ryner's starter. A strong-willed Clefairy whose goal in life is for her dear partner to be proud of her, because if he's proud of her then he's distracted from the downward spiral of his own self-loathing. (Although, a well-timed Pound works wonders in that regard too.) She's highly motivated, and usually the ringleader if Ryner's team gets into shenanigans, though most of the time they're harmless or for the greater good. She's got an overconfident streak, and she usually understands a lot less than she thinks she does, but she means well, and believes that as long as she and her dear partner are together, nothing - not fakes, not legends, not even goddesses - can take them down. Also she has an ongoing one-sided rivalry with Marian. For reasons. This Absol hatched from the first mystery egg Ryner received. The cynical might assume that Jehra is there to warn others of Ryner's status as a disaster with legs, but the truth is, he's a worrywart who sticks close by his papa's heel to make sure that he's warned of any disasters that might befall him. He mostly keeps up a stoic front, but has a silly streak when the mood strikes him (and usually more often in private). This Joltik hatched from a mystery egg Ryner received. A friendly Joltik who isn't completely naive anymore about how creepy some people (who aren't his dad) can find tiny spiders like him to be, but he does his best not to show how much that sometimes bothers him, preferring to spend his days spinning webs and making art. This Magikarp was part of a swarm, but stuck around because the Cherubios are good. Prynne is quite proud of the little underwater nook she has made for herself in the aquatic plantlife. She has painstakingly decorated it with colorful pebbles she's collected with help from Saias, and she likes to relax in there most of the day, safe in her own little world. Brynn's favorite activity is just drifting just under the surface of the pond, looking up at the sky, watching the clouds drift by or looking at the stars. She finds it relaxing to imagine that the shapes they make resemble familiar things, like pebbles or Cherubios. If she had thumbs, she'd probably make a good artist, but alas, she is a fish. He practices his backflips at all times of day, looking to see just how high he can jump, and how elegant he can be while he does so. Gwynne swims three laps around the pond every morning at dawn at top speed to keep up her agility, and then spends the rest of the day swimming further slower laps to keep an eye on things and gather the latest gossip. As an unintended consequence, he's very familiar with the topography of the pond, especially any nooks and crannies that might go unnoticed by others, so he's a champion at hide and seek. Ryner purchased this Cyndaquil's egg because Rose decided, in her infinite wisdom, that the best way to make Ryner less lonesome and homesick would be to surround him with more partners. (Also she was cold.) Because he knew more or less what was going to come from the egg, Ryner named him Ren, short for "Kurenai", a Roland fire spell. Ren is a very curious fire beast with sparkling eyes that just take in everything about the world - he wants to learn everything he can. He's energetic and loves to explore, though he also sleeps a lot out of necessity because he thinks he has more energy than he really does and therefore pushes himself a little hard and ends up tiring himself out easily. Early in his life, he was incredibly sensitive to the touch and would flare up whenever someone petted him unexpectedly, even if they were being gentle - Ryner still has a scar on his right hand from when he got burned, even if it's only barely noticeable if you know where to look. With evolution, Ren's gotten better and no longer flares up at the slightest touch, but he's still liable to do it if you catch him too off guard. Fuji randomly decided to send Ryner an Eevee egg. To this day, Ryner's still not completely sure why. Jiji loves to fight. Anything and everything. He loves to chase things that are smaller than him - doing so gives him what he thinks of as the thrill of the hunt. He loves to fight things that are stronger than him - never let it be said that he would ever back away from the excitement of a challenge. Yes, he gets hurt a lot, which drives Ryner nuts, but he doesn't care, because he finds it fun. When there isn't anything around to fight or chase, however, he will demand the attention of anyone and everyone in the vicinity - he's a little bit vain, and just loves being petted. This Igglybuff hatched from the mystery egg Ryner received for Easter. No one is ever quite sure exactly what Kaile is thinking. His expression is always a small, peaceful smile, one that doesn't betray any particular emotion. Always. It never changes, ever. Rarely, one might be able to catch a shred of his true feelings in his eyes, but you have to be looking. He's not exactly shy, but he is fairly quiet. Stealthy, too - he's been known to pop up without warning in a spot where you swear he was nowhere near two seconds ago. He also takes a little bit after his Delibird lineage (he's got one as an ancestor somewhere) and likes to give gifts to people. It's not his fault if they explode most the time. Has become good friends with Jiji, to the point where they're practically inseparable. This Deerling decided that Ryner was going to be her friend the instant she first laid eyes on him. She first leapt in front of him to get him to catch her, but when that didn't work, she started bringing him gifts. First a wildflower or two, then some berries, then a large flowering branch, until he finally got the point and asked if she wanted to come along. Ellie wants to be friends with EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. And if she wants something, she will get her way, make no mistake. She will do whatever it takes to get her way, though she isn't particularly cunning or anything, just diabetes-sweet and innocent enough to get her point across. Her hobbies include frolicking with and singing to the local wildlife, even though she doesn't actually know the move Sing, and, ah... isn't very good at it. During yet another one of Ryner's semi-annual egg sales, Jiji decided that he wanted to give Jina, Sion's Glaceon and Jiji's son, a sibling to play with. So he hid one of his eggs so that Ryner wouldn't find it until it was too late to sell it. This Eevee is Jiji's daughter. With a highly curious nature and a cheerful disposition, Jiru wants to poke her nose into everything and everything, even if it's something she really shouldn't get into. When she wants something, she has a tendency to act on impulse and rush into it, rather than thinking through the best way to do it. During the first Fourth Wall event that everyone was allowed to remember part of, Ryner ended up buried under a pile of Larvesta that pretty much fell from the sky. This one just happened to decide to stick around, since she had nothing better to do. Her name is derived from that of some weird guy Ryner met during the Fourth Wall who seemed to know him but was no one he'd ever met before. Senna is very easy-going, and though she's not the most out-going, she's certainly friendly enough. She keeps a rather chilled-out attitude toward the world most of the time, and is quick to forgive for even large grievances, not that there's much that gets on her nerves. Also, she's quite warm and fluffy and doesn't mind being used as a pillow, though her large size now that she's evolved makes that somewhat more difficult these days. The one odd thing about her is her sense of humor, in that she likes climbing up the wall and sticking to it for hours on end before suddenly flopping down to the floor when you least expect it, for the sole purpose of seeing who jumps. Ryner purchased this Mienfoo egg at BreederCon because Rose, in her infinite wisdom, decided that she wanted him to. He's going with the assumption that she wanted a fighting type on the team so she could have a challenge when it grew up. Highly self-disciplined and self-motivated, Tei is one of the most serious members of the menagerie when it comes to training... and he knows it. And he makes sure everyone else knows it too. When he completes his exercises (which he made up himself), he makes sure everyone else knows just how well his training went that day, and makes no secret how much he prides himself on being more disciplined than everyone else, which makes him come off (rightfully) as a bit of a jerk. Rose bought this Buneary egg for Ryner, in her infinite wisdom, because she wanted to cheer him up. Apparently, she still hasn't really gotten the message... Having fun is Elden's top priority, and his definition of fun is harmless messy mischief. Rolling toilet paper down the stairs to see how it unfurls. Dumping baking powder into a pile on the floor and rolling in it until his fur is all covered in the stuff. Making a big pile of leaves to jump into... that just so happens to be on top of a big mud puddle. During the fossil swarm, Ryner ended up fighting this Archen, and when the fossils reverted, somehow it ended up in his bag. He meant to just revive it, apologize, and let it go, but it decided to stay anyway. Saias is admittedly confused by the modern world, but ultimately, it's not a big deal. He likes to keep things simple. Shiny things are good. He likes shiny things, especially brightly colored pebbles. Ryner purchased this Frillish's egg from Kayneth, his reason being that it would not only help his friend to clear out part of the large number of eggs he found himself saddled with, but it would also help with SCIENCE. Rose approves. Robin certainly has a lot of charisma. He's friendly, fairly easy-going, and easy to get along with, but just pushy enough to be influential when he wants to be.
