Ryner received a Sail Fossil from Celebi as thanks for attending a festival in its honor. ...And then while he was out, Rose went and revived it at the Pokemon Center for him. How thoughtful of her. It's not as though Deker would have chosen to be suddenly revived incalculable years in the future, exactly, but now that he's here, he finds the whole thing amazing. All of the plant life is so different! The smell of the air just in general, too. He finds it fascinating, really, and if you ask, will gladly go on about how he remembers things back in ancient times. (Are his memories accurate? Who knows.
