A Komala joined the horde of wild Pokemon looking to stop the Nightmare Forest because how dare you disturb the sanctity of sleep you cretins. She then met Ryner and took a liking to him because he gets it, so she decided to tag along. Despite being asleep literally all the time, as is usual for her species, Emm definitely knows everything that's going on around her at any given time. It's very easy for her to slip into the background and for no one to notice she's there, considering that she's asleep and all, so she knows all the juiciest gossip, which she doles out to those who she deems should know as necessary, often in such a way that the recipient of the information never knows it's from her.
